Jenny Williams & Judy Hall
Jenny Williams discovered yoga when her daughters were toddlers—yoga was the calm to the busyness of motherhood and a long commute to work. Through a dedicated yoga practice, Jenny discovered her love for teaching and completed the Radiant Child Yoga Program® Teacher Training, ChildLight Yoga™ Teacher Training and Yoga 4 Classrooms™. In 2013, then Jenny completed the Spirit Tree 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training with Cathy Cesario. Jenny also has a passion for children’s literature where she spent twenty years at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Publishing in the children’s books department. This is where she fell in love with early childhood education—through the joy of reading and sharing picture books with children. In 2016 she left HMH to join Judy at The Pennfield School.
Judy Hall received her Early Childhood Certification from Salve Regina University, Newport, RI, and also holds a bachelors degree in Sociology and a Masters Degree in Management. Her Mindfulness Training and Practice is through Mindful Schools where she completed the Mindfulness Fundamentals Course. She was the 2014 recipient of the Diman Teaching Excellence Prize awarded to her by her colleagues at the Pennfield School. She is a Pre-Kindergarten teacher at The Pennfield School, Portsmouth, RI. She has close to 20 years of teaching experience and has helped shape the lives and minds of hundreds of children from Aquidneck Island and the surrounding towns. Her passion is teaching, especially those under the age of 5.
As of September 2016, Judy and Jenny have co-taught Pre-Kindergarten. Together, they work in tandem to incorporate the breath, meditation, affirmations, reflection, movement and relaxation. Whether using these tools for transitions or self-regulation (and everything in between) they have noticed a huge improvement in their daily routines creating a more peaceful and calm classroom. They have designed their own Mindfulness and Self-Care Curriculum and seek to share this with other educators in the southern New England area..
